I'm an enviro artist normally, but have to make a hero character for a Uni assignment.
I've got most of the base mesh done, which I have to then take into Mudbox and sculpt. I've never made characters before, so any critiques are welcome. Its supposed to be a stylized, G-rated character, so the anatomy doesn't need to be too perfect. She's gonna be wearing most leather and have a sort of mean look about her. This is how its looking so far.
There are some display issues with Maya in the wireframe shot that I'm not sure how to fix just yet.

I want her to have that sort of look, though less cartoony.
You guys thing I'd need more geometry for the base mesh when sculpting or should this be okay?

A question for you guys: In this case her ears are totally covered by hair. Should I then just get rid of them altogether?
cheers.
I like it though, is a good first character attempt. I would get rid of ears if you never see them!
Yeah, I know. I've been teaching myself. I'm gonna take a serious shot at re-drawing the concept soon.
Sorry If I'm real ignorant about these sort of details. Still learning.
