Hey guys!
alright, my real name is Tak (pronouced Tuck) - been wanting to be an artist for god knows how long now. Trouble is, i never seem to have enough motivation until my first real job as QA where I met Emil!
So thanks to him i've started on a long road - its been very slow going so i've decided enough is enough and I need to get the ball rolling and thought this is a good a start as any.
first real paint i've ever done from photo reference in PS.
after some advice i am gonna try out more black and white to get the hang of forms/gradient/using brushes etc etc without having to worry about colour - so started simple with some penguins

Slow at the beginning as you practice it goes faster!

when you mean cutting with a brush you mean putting a stroke down then painting over it leaving say a smaller line without having to reduce the size of ur brush?
