He uses an entire barrel of the stuff in Super Street Fighter 4.
I wonder whether you mightn't be better off taking the concept of the slippery, oiled up wrestler and developing it into your own character rather than slightly modifying an existing character from an unrelated studio. Perhaps you could fuse the two - Have an oiled up Kurt from MDK or something.
Jackablade, I thought about that, but I think Hakan would be more fun overall. I'll see if I can squeeze an Earthworm Jim reference in there somewhere (as I never really got into mdk as much as ewj).
Still doodling, but i'm pretty sure he will have some oktoberfest lederhosen and a mohawk for sure.
Oh and researching his hairstyle, it seems to have come from the Flavian era, awesome!
Impressive, very thorough modeling work for a sculpting challenge. Sort of wish it were a more original character, but your subject is still an amusing play on the company's name - best of luck in wrapping it up.

I have a concept for alternate Hakan i'll scan in later tonight.
Beat: Ha, just got the Firefly reference

Basesculpting the body next.
Building the hands and basesculpting the legs next!
Working on the hair and gear next, then get into some more detailed sculpting
Building the hair now:
I gave up on the original hair sketch, I wasn't liking the silhouette, and decided to just work on making the costume different.
Final hair lowpoly:
I'm sculpting the body/hair and building the clothing/gear next.
Here's another closeup of the head:
