I have actually done some sketching, but nothing has won me over yet... Plus we lost power here for a few hours and it only came back about 20 mins ago. But that's just a lame excuse as far as I'm concerned.
I'll try and bust something out that I'm happy with in the next hour or so. Otherwise... DOUCHEBAG!
After a bunch of random sketches of trying to draw something so bad ass, everyone would blow a steamy load just by looking at it and failing miserably, I decided to try a different approach: Something silly and fun.
I'm doing a scrawny Ice Wizard clad in American Gladiators spandex gear and weilding an ice staff. He'll have a few wizardry pouches and maybe even a spell book attached to his belt. Here's just a random head I'm playing with, just so I've posted something.
Will post more once I've got something.
The connect of the eyebrows/sideburns/beard is sweet. He looks pretty mean with the long beard cut square at mustache length.. if you cover it with your hand. Old men are totally awesome, so... good luck!
Kind of getting the impression that PC challenges are a good opportunity to just have fun.
Looking forward to this guy's development, dude, woot! I wonder if a hooked/crooked nose would work a bit better than the bulbous one you've got going at the moment. Love the facial hair connection, though, as vrav pointed out. Make 'em really bushy, like epic bushy.
Thanks for the comments, guys.
The eyebrows weren't meant to connect wit the beard, haha. I guess it kinda looks that way from the quick sketch. I just didn't get around to polishing any particular area just because i'm keeping the concept loose until I'm confident with the direction.
Teck, I'll give the hooked/crooked nose a go in the sculpt as I'll get a better feeling for it once it's in 3D
Small update:
Base mesh next, then refining the concept a little more and then finally busting out the sculpt.
The face is coming along very nicely, though how bout biasing the color scheme to something much cooler? Maybe keep some red, in the cheeks, for example, but overall give his skin a much colder, deader cast to it?

I'm also looking forward to what you come up with!
hurry up casey - it's daytime over here so no excuses :P

(That's what she said!)
why look any further for Blizzard than Blizzard? thought you might like that as a reference
I am really digging this little guy my only suggestion at the moment would be some crazy ice blue eyes.
Keep going man............. I am watching you.

Anyways nice sketch! On with the Gnome reference <.< Keep it up!
Some progression on the concept (I need to decide how to attack the knee and elbow pads)
Some progression on the sculpt (using a modified Arsh basemesh)
great job on the face so far
The only prob I see is that the feet look a little too turned out. Other than that I think he is looking super slick. Keen to see some more please.
