I like the proud, noble appearance of him, Not something you usually associate with goats, so its definitely a nice contrast. Does he have hair? I mean like any sort of hair style. should be cool though.
Is this too much basemesh? Am I breaking the rules? Am I suppose to sculpt the armor out of the character mesh in zbrush, not block it in like I have in Maya?
Anyways, exporting parts into zbrush to strat pushing/pulling around. having fun so far:)
Blah, got to work on it for about five minutes(feels like anyways) and now I have to go to work... to wash dishes... the pain and torment...:poly127::poly127::poly127::poly127:, oh well, Im excited to work on it later tonight:)
This is terrible, but I thought it funny enough to share. If I had done a proper drawing here, youd be able to tell that the gladiator getting his face cut off has already been cut in half... but instead it just looks like really bad perspective...and proportions are all messed up on goat...and the perspective is messed up...enjoy:)
Suggestion would be to flesh out the bigger forms on the sculpt a bit before hitting finer details.
Right now they look a bit too smoothed out, if that makes sense.
Awesome sketch, the energy of the pose and perspective (at least I think it looks good) sell the character as very intense, I dont wanna fuck with him.
So I basically have all the parts blocked in now: gauntlets, waist and leg wraps, ears... but I have a problem, I made the ears as an individual piece and don't know how to combine them in zbrush without an obvious seam. Ive used polygroups to sculpt across the seam, but it still shows, so my current solution has been to make a head piece that covers the seam, but I'd like to stick as close as possible to my concept sketch. Im going to dig around and see if there are any tuts on welding separate pieces together withing zbrush. Anyone here know? I should have built the geometry out originally in my base as one piece...blah.
Besides that, I now have a tone of sculpting to do.. and I suppose it's a good time to start thinking about the final pose and base as well....oh crap, and a weapon too:poly124:
Calling it done for today...It's missing some stuff but Ill just have to finish it up outside of the challenge. This was fun, learned some new things in Zbrush and was only frustrated most of the time! Now to go poke around and look at everyone else's challenge piece:)

Only thing I would crit is the size of his hands, they look a little small as of right now. Big hands to match his big arms.
the only comment i can give is that maybe iyou could have added some more form on the entire piece by being a bit looser while sculpting
but it looks great anyway ^^
