Some info for other students thinking of going to uni in the UK.
I had a phone interview and the guy I was speaking to told me how all the tutors have industry experience, one of the tutors has 14 years experience and is a director of his own studio which runs out of the facilities, of which he hires students to do freelance here and there.
We talked about a source mod I work on, he seemed impressed and said when he showed me portfolio to the art tutors they didn't understand why i wanted to go to uni instead of get a job.
I asked how many student per class and he said around 20.
He then told me that most of the students apply with 3d portfolios and that they have industry contacts, a few weeks back a guy from sony came in.
He said that while they focus heavily on drawing and networking, as it is a degree course there is writing involved.
