Well, not THE Juggernaut. But a juggernaut nonetheless.
So what is this creature, you ask? Well, juggernauts are part animal, part incantation, part machine, and all bad attitude. Seriously, what is there not to love?
While it's going to be really fun adding detail to the mechanical pieces, I need to avoid making it look too authentic, so to speak. According to Warhammer lore, juggernauts are
not like steam tanks or other such physical contraptions. Instead of being engineered, they run on good old-fashioned PFM. As a result, the mechanical bits need to seem functional, but not
too functional.
I'm working from the back to the front, getting pieces slapped in one at a time. I'm getting comfortable with the individual pieces, but we'll see what things looks like when the overall silhouette comes together. The posture is probably gonna fall somewhere in between canine and bovine.
While it's still early on, comments, encouragement, and critiques are always welcome.

great thing to make though. good luck man it should be awesome
New studio, new lease on life, and a new itch to do artwork in my spare time. Dug this guy back out of the bin because I was really enjoying it, and I wanna see it through to the end. I will not go quietly into the night!
Made the spring thicker as per feedback, and slapped a host of new items in there. For the mechanics I'm taking in a lot of reference for automobile pieces and then mashing them together. I still want to stick with the original goal of making him look functional without being too believable.
Looks great though.
Tanka, you make a good point. I'll have to start trying out some rudimentary rigging setups to see what my liabilities are.
Thank you all for the encouragement!
It gonna look awesome! For now, just looks great!
@IchII3D Warhammer fantasy in this case, not 40k, however you will see something very similar to this in the form of daemons riding them in 40k, not sure if the chaos space marines do or not.
I'm at that oh-so-wonderful place in the creative process where I'm beginning to hate looking at it. I just need to keep going, one piece at a time.
Its looking bad ass man! I`m stoked to see how you approach the chainmail dangling from the front leg
Also just in case its miss leading I also recommend blocking out your model as a low poly, getting all the scaling down so you don't need to try mish mash your high poly into the right shape. Its only then you can really break it down into the manageable pieces you need it to be in.
P.S. Looking awesome!
Keep at it
