Hi all, I'm new here at Polycount so I figured this would be a good place to start posting. I'll be posting both models and concepts as I trudge along.
For my first project I'm working on what's essentially a zombie in a wheelchair. The wheelchair will have an oxygen tank attached that players can use to shoot and explode as a counter-measure. Any suggestions or critiques would be welcome as well. Thanks!

I don't know though - in a game situation having it on the back would increase the challenge for the player, who would have to either find a way to get behind the zombie or hope for a lucky shot.
Maybe the zombie can "bob" from side to side as he moves - giving the player only a short window of opportunity to hit the tank (with some masterful aiming of course) if it's peaking up over the back of the chair.
On a side note does anyone have any suggestions for creating glass? Would it mainly just be applying texture/alpha maps in the actual game engine? Or would what you create in max carry over? Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion, I guess it would be too easy if the tank was right on the side. Also it's a bit of a silly idea but I was thinking when you play the zombie you have to gain a certain momentum then slam on the brakes to launch yourself onto the survivors. If you miss you'll be left wriggling on the floor due to being separated from your oxygen supply (granted i guess he would be dead already haha)
Waedoe- I pretty much cut/inset in the low poly. It looks quite ugly when lowpoly but with the turbosmooth on it sort of has the effect I wanted.
Just a lot of scratches http://media.photobucket.com/image/old%20oxygen%20tank/ritter40/DSCN3885.jpg
I feel like I'm going crazy though because no one has mentioned it yet...
Thanks ZacD, hopefully will have a relatively finished version soon so I can begin zbrushing.
Anyway, yeah, the oxygen tank's dents are really bothersome in my opinion.
Personally, I think you need some more geometry for the bottom of the seat in the wheelchair.
Otherwise, good stuff.
I think it would make it more freaky if you would damage/bend one of the rear wheels to have a lumpy animation while he moves.
