I have a massive brainwave today and modeled this boot in like five minutes. Where it is from is just on the tip of my tongue, but I can't figure out where I saw it to save my life. Has anyone seen this boot before?
My friends said it looked like Sora, Cloud, Captain Morgan, and various other ones but they all turned up bust, not the right boot. I feel like it was from a Disney movie but I can't be sure. Even the type of boot this is called would be good.
In my mind's eye the toes part was large like a clown and the collarish part that hangs down from the top was very stylized and cartoony. It was also made of leather. Not sure if this helps.

Zelda's Link?
I didn't think of Zelda though, Young Link's shoes in Orcarina is incredibly close and might be it, but that just doesn't sit right with me. They're the most similar but I don't think that's them.
Let's call it GeneraBoot and be done with it!
.........its obviously puss n boots from shrek
You have a point about how it is every fantasy character ever since that is making it so hard to find the right one.
And the kid in Fable is barefoot, I just checked.
Looks like you haven't finished modelling, the underneath of the boot is completely flat and it could do with optimisation on top
Not sure what the problem is when you say that the bottom of the boot is flat, last time I checked my shoes and boots were flat. Unless you mean like the tiny lip there is between the heel and the foot?
I think I will texture it later once I get home. It'll be the first time I try out my new Bamboo Fun tablet.
Also, you are missing the curve from the heel piece to the tip of the boot, as seen on these pictures:

Notice how the nose lifts up?
Also, the neck of the boot looks waay too boxy for comfort.
As for being boxy it's supposed to be part of a larger low poly model so I can't help it if its box. You're never supposed to be able to view it as closely as I am there anyways. I'll try to round it out a bit more without adding any additional edge loops.
EDIT:
Better?
Otherwise, yes, that is an improvement.
Yeah you can. Unboxify it if you arent planning on making a boxy character. Everything else is just excuses.
Psst... 99.9999% of all footwear isn't perfectly symmetrical...
Honestly though you don't have to bite my head off. It looks round to me and I don't see what you mean at all. Where/How is it boxy?
What do you mean by welding the corner verts? Do you just mean on the collar flap part where it tris?
And I know boots aren't symmetrical, you don't need to whisper. I just haven't gotten to that part yet.
EDIT:
Is this better?
Also thanks for the shoe dimensions, Ill implement them as soon as its not boxy anymore.
By platform he means which gaming platform you remember seeing the character with these boots. PC, Xbox, 360, Gamecube, N64, Wii, PS1,2,3, etc.
EDIT:
While this is more 'correct' in terms of realism then the ones from before, it now looks nothing at all like what I intended at first and I am very unsatisfied with it. Even now its technically not right because the foot part should be like twice as far out, which just makes it look like Sideshow Bob clown shoes to me.
Managed to make it look more like the way I wanted it a little while still retaining realism. Also elimated a bunch of redundant edges.
