Thanks I'll have to give it a spin when I'm using Maya next, really missed this feature when modeling in Maya.
So if you turn the script off it re-triangulates back to the way it was? Or it defines the edge so it stays facing the right way?
Does it work on n-gons?
.in polygon options turn on face triangles.
.go in to turn edge mode.
.turn the triangulation of a quad.
.exit turn edge mode.
And the face triangle display still shows the triangulation of a quad reverting back to it's original state?
edit: and if not reverted ( face triangle ), the face is instead triangulated to fit ( an edge is added )?
Maya 2008
It seems unlikely that a script could change Maya topology behavior?
maybe I am missing something?
Otherwise there are plenty of general edge turning scripts. And as much will be built into 2011.

Meh... have to try it out.
