Started modeling this pulse rifle last night. Starting to put together a proper portfolio. There are some spots I need to tidy up a bit. If anyone has any tips on terminating some edges so they dont have to run all the way across the geometry when they are pretty much useless they would be greatly appreciated Anything else you guys see let me hear about it.
i like the design, but i gotta say, this really doesnt look alien to me, maybe try modelling with some imperfections? right now it looks too hard surface, when i think of alien weapons i think more organic, but thats just me :P

How...how have you never seen Aliens?! I thought it was a requirement to live on Earth.

Wow... lol.
Very good modeling so far! You cound spare some polygons (even if it's not for real time), expecially on the magazine chamber; good work!
Thank you for the honest critique. So far I have just been pumping out the geometry. planning on going back and cleaning up a bunch of areas. I'm toying with the idea of putting this into the unreal engine. Considering I am going to use it for my portfolio.

Looks good so far, just dont do what they did in the new Aliens vs Predator game, I wont post a link as it may taint your vision and cause despair.

Quick question. Is there a way to make vray "Ignore" the floating geometry, so it wont cast a shadow on the geometry it is floating over?
