hey premium, i really like the work you're putting in.
nice improvement so far.
I'd suggest doing some studies from life or photo, the caricature ones are good but trying to get a face to look right without exaggerating the features is also good practice
What Zelzaan said - after his post I went and read from the beginning, I remembered a few as tickets from the Concept Tag thread. Your style and skill level has expanded greatly between the first and last posts in this thread.
Thanks, JohnnySix! I know I have progressed since first post. It would be silly if I wouldn't ... As you can see my first post in this thread was in 2010.. so yeah I'm slow in my progress... BTW I have been taking art courses from September 2011... I learned the basics and really got into traditional art. Oil painting and watercolors, and drawing with pencil is so much fun. I really enjoy it.
Yeah.. I'v progressed a little, but there is still a quite big room to grow. Actually no.. There isn't any room... There are no borders that can limit my greed for better paintings and drawings. I'm looking at my works and I know all of them are shit. Not that I don't like them, they're my shit after all .. but you got the point.
Anyway thanks for kind words, I really appreciate that.
Heeey. I'm kinda back. Wanted to show my progress to you guys. I realy want to hear where I should improve. What are my weakness. I would really appreciate it. Thanks! ^_^
^this one is still in wip stage. Not sure if I'm going to finnish it. Doesnt seem like best composition. /
Not sure if I'm allowed to post that last one. :P It is for an upcoming game we are currently working on. I have some character designs too I would love to show, but I think I'll add them later.
So yeah. Hope you guys like some of them and I would love to see some critique action going on. ^^
Thank you very much, Christopher! Which one reference study do you mean?
And by the way http://i.imgur.com/mrllnAy.png
this one is made from 1st thumb. I'm planning to do them all.
And here's character I made last night. Will shade him too.
Excellent rendering of the water in that one. As far as critique goes, the only thing that really sticks out to me the wave lines around the boat and closer to the foreground shore. It seems like their directions don't coincide with how waves move and they lack the texture that's characteristic of the rest of the piece.
That's just imho, though.
The one you posted after it is definitely your most interesting piece on the page. I love the movement and energy. Great rendering of both the water and the mountains, great use of color in the composition as well. My only potential critique concerns the textured brush on the trees. On the second closest tree, there's a brush stroke that's totally separated on the right, it keeps catching my eye and pulling me out of the painting.
Wish I had more to give, I'll be studying your works and seeing what I can learn.
Thanks Marnik for critic! You are totally correct. Yoon, yeah I use some brushes that I downloaded from fusroda homepage. But My favorite one is round brush with hard edge.
By the way... Here's some wip I'm working on. Later I'll post some of my finished works.

Few thumbnails.
Link to youtube.
I took second thumb and made a bigger piece out of it.
What do you think?
I think it's pretty boring.
Anyway, here isomething more interesting.
The second thumb, which you made into a larger piece reminds me of Jang Hui from avatar last airbender, neat!

Do you have a bunch of brushes you like to use while doing these concepts? They have a really interesting texture to them.
That's just imho, though.
