Hey guys.
Been pimping this in the w.a.y.w.o- and the lowpoly thread.
Been looking through some of Pior´s old Threads and I felt inspired enough to try a cute stylized spacebabe.
Started doodling, like I always do when I can´t sleep and just kept working on it.
Went a little overboard with the polycount but those fecking fingers eat triangles like crazy...I´m still pretty pleased with how it came out.
Update:
I added one alternative hairstyle and tweaked the mesh a little...If you have trouble with the uv´s feel free to modify to your liking.
I suggest you turn off backface culling on the hair for the best effect.
Of course you can use this thread to post your skins.
I cant wait to try it, Can the model be in Quads (Not fully Trised) please?
Asking a true O.G. of the lowpoly to use quads... that's just blasphemy. There was a time, when triangles were so important, if you said the word "quad" people would have no idea what you were saying.

hehe, It may sound like blasphemy but sometimes i like to work on subdividing the model a lil bit to get a good AO map.
Just saw that tutorial some hours ago, but Im not that good at painting, soo I like to Sculpt the model in zbrush and then get AO and Cavity maps for the details.
Sculpting a model will totally improve your painting skills.
Hmm, conflicting points of view, but i belive that sculpting will improve my painting skills, its just like using the burn tool to add shadows to a texture but you actualy do it in a 3d model, and you learn alot about proportions and details. though I Liked my first experience at old school painting with the goblin ^^.
Burn and dodge, from what I've learned = BAD (at least when texturing in color)
Anywho, this looks fun! Thanks Slaught, I've always been a fan of your models
good to see these popping up again.
I've had the thought, seeing as I listen to electronic music nearly non stop, that we ought to not just reskin sdk models, but go further and have a "model remix".
retain the original in some recognizable form, but add on geo and make it even more unique than just a skin.
I think I may do that with this one, and with mops goblin here in the near future.
@Vrav
Wut.
I´ll have a look, thanks for letting me know.
@Vailias
Sounds fun...The model should be basic enough for that.
Edit:
Somehow he .obj files are really messed up.
I´ll try to fix this right away.
2nd Edit:
Okay for some reason the .obj exporter seems to hate untriangulated models with more than one object and texture.
I´ve updated the downloadlinks.
You´ll have to piece the model together from three parts but at least this way the uv´s, face direction and smoothing groups work like they should.
Sorry for the inconvinience.
@ Slaught - I can't wait to try my hand at texturing this model! Awesome work!
@ Spacey - Awesome texture dude! I've bookmarked Prom's website too. So much awesome inspiration.
@ Tim - Looking pretty cool so far! Interested to see how your texture develops!
If anyone could answer my previous question that would be most helpfull. Is Deep paint 3d and zapplink the only ones? I'm looking for ways to work directly on the model from within photoshop instead of painting on the uv template...
@RAVEN_NQR
I haven´t tried it but Enzo sounds like what you are looking for. http://www.electriciris.com/

Everything else look good and dynamic to the newby eye.
BUT what happened to her butt? looks like there's some duplicated edge stuff going on at that seam (yeah nitpicking here :P)
Can't wait to play with her.
just a mirrored instance, and therefore not welded

Other than that, though: Awesome.

Looking awesome slaught. I may give this a go when i get my new tablet.
@Cap Hotkill
Sorry, half of the model is made of triangles and making those quads would defeat the purpose of a lowpoly model.
However I could turn a lot of them into N-gons if you want...It will use less resources that way because I say so.

Cool model slaught

Download in the first post
Could someone rename the threadtitle to "Cybabe -SDK Download-"

Lifted 9skulls Samus idea, input half a Justin Bailey code, and added a pinch of Prom
Well yeah but not as much as actually painting will...
In generally any form of art will improve most other techniques, but why bake a cake when your goal is to make a roast dinner?
I will start with the painting now
Thanks for the delicious mesh
Thanks for the SDK, I needed a fun break.

.......gameboy colours?
I have tried Deep paint 3d, (which works much like zapplink for zbrush) - anything else out there?
Thanks for sharing this model!
Face uv´s needed some tweaking.
Remind me to skin the next sdk really quick to find such errors before releasing it onto the masses.

It's been a blast texturing her so far, thanks Slaught for making her!

By the looks of it, it seems like you are getting on well with your texturing, how exactly is your workflow?
Yeah, i had to edit the Uvs a lil bit, I also changed the shape of the face a lil bit. its that permited?
