its not a kimber its just something im kind of throwing together from a bunch of different designs, please give me input and ref photos of stuff you would like to see. im up for a challenge. Please no scopes or rail mount suggestions, mainly hammers slide details, trigger options, saftey stuff, this is all going to get normaled down to a low poly and released for in game replacement so please give me crits and suggestions
ill keep that in mind, i just know that to hard of edges are bad for normal maps or so ive been told
yeah a lot of times people are making their HP edges too hard and don't transfer well to a map, in this case, they're looking a tad too soft and squishy. Nice model though!
Could we get a true isometric side shot? Because in most of these your proportions seem off, but it's hard to tell without a proper shot.
yeah, i did take back the slide some, i had an original 1911 a1 but that was for mod work. this one is personal and for everyone once i get it baked down this weekend, ill get you a left shot, but you are right it is shorter than normal
Ok so im done with the high poly, there are a few pinches i might work with but this is basically what im finishing with. Im going to move onto the low poly now and prepare it for normal maps, if you guys have any suggestions please done hesitate to tell me.
Low Poly is done! It is aboot half way uvw mapped. It will be on 1 2048x 2048. any ideas on how to fix the smoothing at the front kind of embarrassing. And yes i know its not as optimized as could be, i just finished the normals for the 1911a1 mod work im doing so im not going for absolute perfection i just want the normal map to look good and get this one released to the public. Tri count sits at 3800 that with the grip mirrored.
Finished the normal map. moving on to the texture, first ever so ill need some hard crits 3550 tris its on 2048 x 2048 maps right now. Will be posting more updates later. rendered in marmo
so been working on it not sure if its much of an improvement, i think im going to rebake my ao, although i have been having troubles with getting a correct bake in max.

***there are black lines on the edges near where the hammer rotates into, not sure whats causing them, i think it might be my ao map ill check it out!
