Photoshop Layer Styles disabled.

I dont know whats happened(I didnt touch nuffin), but in one of my files all the layer styles, those effects things you put onto layers like bevel and emboss, have disabled themselves. The eyeball is open and on, yet its a light grey colour. All the layers I've got and all the layers I subsequently create show no result from selecting effects to change the layer. I dont know what to do? Would appreciate any clues to solve this conundrum.

make sure it's in the RGB color mode. You can set it on the top menu.

I think Seaseme's got it. Whenever that happens to me it's because I've accidentally clicked onto a blue, red or green channel. RBG that bad boy and it should go back to normal.

Layer > Layer Style > Show All Effects (Second from the bottom)

If it says "Disable All Effects" then this isn't the problem...however clicking that and disabling all effects would cause something similar to the problem you're having...
