he's coming along pretty well, you're almost there man!
maybe his vest, the grey inner part with he honeycomb pattern and the sash should be slightly darker to give a bit more contrast and bring out the rest of the harness ?
i tried it here real quick with the burn tool in photoshop and it looks a bit better i think.
Looking good, but id go back and look at the colors, you have moved very far from where you were at the start of the page in terms of colors. The current green is way too army green and less privet sector personal weapons grey\green like in the concept.
Thanks guys for the comments! I am going to take all advices and get on and finish today I hope!
Thegodzero : your right! I have moved away in colour, some intenionally, some not, I am looking to get back to it today and hope to get a little closer. Not stressing if its not 100% but will try! Cheers!
lookin good sir, again the textures on the helmet are awesome! spec looks pretty good, the baggy material on the pants looks a little scaley at the moment, dunno if that was intentional, also i think the hex pattern on the silver fabric could stand to be repeated somewhere in the texture. lookin nice tho bakes came out great!
Thanks Woog, and to all those who have been following.
I have got to the end of the road. I still have a few things to change and improve, but for now I have to stop. Its been weeks and its finally getting to me. BigThanks! to all those who have stopped by and encouraged, to be honest I would have not got it together like this without the help!:)
I have to have some rest, and then I`ll fix up some stuff, remodel a bit which I dont like the look of, feet mostly and then get it on my reel.
Hope to have something new starting as soon as the reel is done!
Way to do the concept justice! Uki's art is amazing (This really makes me want to give his mech a try), and you seem to have really captured the feel of it.
I understand that you're finished with it for now, but have you thought about adding some camo to the olive pads and armor? It might be a nice detail to set the armor and the suit apart a little more, and would be pretty easy to knock out.
Its missing the final touches "the easy part" it's missing all the decals as well as the lights. The pad at the elbow should be dark grey, that added a nice variation in the concept, and is easy to change.
I think adding the things above and a quick pose would go a long way in making it look finished.
I agree too, especially on the pose, it's amazing the difference it makes, a good pose does wonders to a good model that looks otherwise "just cool" in the T pose.
I have been updating today, I couldnt just let go, and judging by the replies its best I stick it out till the end. Had some crits from an old Art Director friend who really pushed me on to finish. Will post update later, with pose to follow.
Awesome- thats great to hear- looking forward to you finalizing it
Do you have an idea for the pose at all? I'm sure all that armor will make it interesting to figure out.
OrganizedChaos : indeed the pose will be interesting. At this stage I`m just thinking of a weight shift, nothing to crazy. but will see how that looks. I think my next char will be based around a skelly, so its build with animation in mind. A lot more than this one....
Looks really great!
I'm not sure why you didn't give it any of the glowy bits. Thankfully it works with out them still. But its just always nice to see the little tech glow bits from the concept.
Looks great! I'm glad you decided to do some final tweaks before calling it finished. The contrast in the eyes and the modified chest piece really pull the whole thing together. Great job!
Nice one! This one reminds me of the types of models for Final Fantasy 13, with a different head/helmet and different colors you could make a different enemy and it wouldnt look lame/copied! Maybe an idea?
Many thanks guys! I`m on the hunt for a new job very soon, so needed this new work for my reel, just glad the help and encouragement from all here helped push me this time!
You dont have a job??
Someone hire this guy!
When someone with so much talent as you doesnt have a job it makes me realize I have a long way to go before i get hired.
heh, thanks Dracula. I would love to be hired its just I have been overseas working and now looking for a great company, not just an average one I have been in before.
