District 9 - Weapon

Hi, here's a weapon I've started to working on . I still have to do a lot of stuff but here`s the start...

Quite nice...currently looks like everything was chamferred the same amount though...vary it up; the gun is made from a few different materials (metal, hard rubber, etc.)

Yeah its looking good, where did you get the concept for this, just from the movie? Or did you find some art? I've been looking for some stuff from the movie.

The model is nice, maybe a little bit too "hard modeled". The staked front shapes (those generating the arc?) look a little more soft in the concept.

Looks good man, only crit here like everyone else is that some edges look really rough.

Hey thanks those highres pics are nice, I was disappointed there was no Avatar stuff on there yet.

more update ... the weapon feelt a bit boring ..so i decided to add some tape and cables holding some stuff together...

Hey Spatz, the outcome is really good. The front arc generators are much better now. I don't think the weapon really needs the tape and wires, because it has nice colors and textures. Wearing and dirt should give the final touch. General edges are still a bit too much defined and could give troubles when dealing with normal maps, but you need to run some tests. Keep it up and will turn out as good portfolio piece.

roosterMAP - yeah at first my choice felt on another weapon ...but then somehow catched this up because the other one had not so much details...
