max 2009 render to texture problem

Hello,

I'm currently working with 3DS Max 2009 on a swamp scene that has 3 trees. I've been working on texturing the first of the three and am now trying to fix seams using a technique where i select the polys around the seam apply a UVW Unwrap modifier, select a different map channel so the main unwrap isn't overwritten and render the polys on that channel to texture. The seam is then corrected in photoshop, saved and reapplied to the model on the same channel previously used then render the model to texture on the main channel with a bit of padding to complete the seam fix. Except now that I'm about halfway done I'm realizing that one of the branches isn't showing up in the render to texture render for no apparent reason bring my progress to a halt. The portion of the object is obviously in place and appears normal.
Yet it does not show up in the render to texture render.
