Hey guys,
I was never able to own a dreamcast when it came out, but i recently acquired one off my boss, but the only game he had was tony hawk 2 (which is awesome!) anyone know what games i should get?

People are still actually playing Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast using custom hacked servers. You can find a lot of Sonic characters running around in those servers.

Annnnd what everyone else has said! I played my DC so fucking much... but was especially addicted to Virtua Tennis and q3 arena!
There's this one game I used to always play (I was a kid then) calls ____ ____ Decathlon. I can't remember the first two words in the name... It was some silly little racing game where you were this little creatures sliding on your bellies on ice in these strange gumdrop/candy winter environments. There was also a hat system similar to TF2's. Not sure any of you would have played it as it was a kids game but I remember it being pretty fun...

Quake 3's also pretty funny on Dreamcast. In an entirely shit way.
Pior: No component cables were ever released for the DC unfortunatly, the only way you could get component is to buy a vga box and then use a component transcoder to convert the signal. Also, you don't need an old boot disc for that stuff, the homebrew/pirate community figured out how to make everything self boot on DC a long time ago. I'd recommend against using ripped copies though sense DC games ran on gd-roms which were essentially cds that held 1gb, so copies are often compressed and sometimes have stuff removed to accomodate the smaller size of burnable discs.

Also, I'd heavily recomend NesterDC if your into old school NES titles, as its the best nes emu ever made (from a compatibility standpoint), completly destroying every nes emu on the PC.

Dreamcast + Arcade Stick + VGA Box = Kick-Ass
A lot of the titles on the Dreamcast were ports of arcade games, or at least inspired by arcade games. And most of them work REALLY well with an arcade stick. Soul Calibur, Power Stone 1 & 2, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 are all fantastic to play with an arcade stick. The VGA box is a must-have for Dreamcast fans. It provides brighter colors and nice crisp graphics. It really helps a lot of the Dreamcast's titles to shine. It will also throw the system's lack of anti-aliasing into sharp relief, but it is a small price to pay for the extra detail.
The Dreamcast was ahead of its time, and left us too quickly. I never gave up my original DC, and still have all my games for it on the shelf.
Haha, loved that game, loaded up my saves the other day and had 250+ hours, ouch so that's what I did as a kid...
God dammit Ikaruga is one of my favorite games of all time. And Sonic Adventure 1 was an absolutely brilliant 3d Sonic game..that and my friend did the voice of Tails.
