I think this model is round about finished and I learnt tonnes in the process, its been a lot of fun as always. The polygon count is at 7,140 and the texture maps for the character are both 2k. Feedback as always is greatly appreciated. This website has been very helpful for me in the past.
I really like everything except the face, it feels a bit less developed than the rest of the model. Nice to hear you learned a lot though, that's always a good thing.
if she soviet spy, i guess she is the man, because Nikita is a male name.
on the technical side- skin needs color and tone variations, and also should be cool to add some volume to hairs.
keep uP!
Thanks for the feedback, guys. I tried using SSS, but for the updated render I'll stick with diffuse, spec and normal. I couldn't render strands of hair, alpha channels don't work with the SSS skin shader.
@edoran89: I agree, I'll fix that and think I'll make her less blonde, giving her hair more of a chestnut colour.
@doeseph: Gonna work on that and try rendering with a standard shader with the SSS to see how the face looks then.
@conte: Haha, I was told by some 'expert' that Nikita was a lovely Ukrainian name for a women. Seems he was talking nonsense , but what do you suggest for a name? Gonna have to work on the skin tone and add more hair.
@kodde: I think your right, I'll make it a wee bit bigger in the next render
I like the name Tatyana, so I'll go with that. I got rid of the SSS and added more saturation to the skin, added some eyelashes and eye shadow as well. I made the hands and feet a bit bigger. As for the boots, women sometimes wear uncomfortable clothing in the name of fashion.
One would imagine a spy kitted out for the field would be more concerned about practicality than fashion sense.
You've got a few proportion issues going on here. The forearms are a little short and hand are a bit small. As for the face, you might do well to check out Almighty Gir's thread on modelling female faces here: http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=70020
There are lot of crits there that you could tkae on board with your model.
With regards to the name, for what it's worth there's a French film about a female assassin called Nikita (both film and character name).
