So i'm pretty tired of this problem, maybe someone knows whats going on...
Every time i load up my scene maya seems to try and load textures from the original directory that had been assigned to that shader, even though the scene has been saved over and over with the correctly updated path
Example:
Original diffuse texture path "data\ColumnDiffuse.tga"
New diffuse texture path "images\ColumnDiffuse.tga"
So every time i restart maya and reload the scene i have to go through each shader that's doing this and re-assign the textures. Just a pain in the ass when you'd think maya could remember where the last file used was located
Deleting the old shader and assigning a new one doesnt even work, somehow it's locating the old path!

Apart from that i'd check the project settings from your maya installation. Not sure if this can fix the problem frm there.
