dds in windows 7

Hey guys. I recently switched to windows 7 64 bit, and now when I try to load a dds into a shader in max ( 2009 ) I get an invalid file type error. Any thoughts?

I doubt this is related to windows. Did you install the old nvidia dds plug-in for 3ds max ? Because it conflicts with the native 3dsmax dds support.

hmm I haven't installed any other nvidia plugins other than the photoshop ones. I pretty much assumed it was windows as I never had any problems before switching over to 7.

I've heard the same problem from other Windows 7 64bit users, sounds to me like a bug with Max's DDS plugin. Have you took a look around on The Area?

Yeah I had a bit of a snoop around there an saw others having a similar issue but no real resolution. Might have to just install 32 bit as well.
