Allo.
I recently started a Schwarzenegger T2 bust for the recent CG hub jam. However I think i've got to that point where I've got certain features working but still havn't nailed the likeness perfectly. After pushing and pulling features around I think its time for more sets of eyes to have a look at this.
Heres my latest update.
Thanks in advance.

The original reference that I used was based on the following:

which was a bit over the top so I need to go in and tighten the details (particularly the wrinkles) however I know that there's something wrong with the positioning of the features and i'm having trouble picking it out.
He doesn't look like Arnold at all tbh, something wrong with the facial features.
Here's real Arnold:
This too has a cartoony look to it, and I think it probably is because you have proportions of certain things slightly off. It's really hard to put my finger on it without having your specific reference and a high resolution comparison, but one area I think that needs work is the brow. I think its too low and close to the eyes, and possibly too wide.
I also think that your 3 quarters view may need work. You might need more shape to your structures so they don't appear so flat. A good way of doing this is get a reference of Arnold from the 3 quarters view and make sure that the silhouette matches up exactly in your model to the reference. But like I said, you might have this area down already, its hard to tell. But basically just keep checking every angle you can imagine with various reference, and just when you think you have it, check it again!
Keep going man looking cool!
Ive found a couple more decent references and tightened up more features.
Here's a paintover to take as you will... could just be me. My main two crits are the hair and lumps above the eyebrows. Instead of raking the hair, I think it would be fine to sculpt asymmetrical forms with a bit of detail at the hairline and along the top, and between forms; otherwise, it looks overdone. I also just think Arnold has some distinctively large earlobes so I threw that in.
2¢! Nice work and adjustments so far.
I think it needs a lot more forehead and a little less hair (as in less high not more bald)
Heres another update, again its minor tweaking. The hair has changed a little, using a few more tools to sharpen it up and again some more details added.
Ive also sculpted a prototype for the skull incase I decide to have his head half destroyed.
Will be starting to create a version with the endoskeleton skull sticking out soon. For now though heres how far i've got with the head and bust. I think im going to do a version with him wearing sunglasses also (some test ones placed in the image).
The other thing I would suggest is hitting the edges with a real small brush on some areas to make them pop out more. This would work good for any small detail area like the edges of the lips, the nasal folds and wrinkles above the brow.
Great job so far!
Even though the differences from the previous version seem small, I think the addition of shading helps this piece but I must admit its a real pain in the ass piece .

If I were you, I'd give him a tiny pose though. It'd be a shame to have put all this work into the sculpt, and have him just staring straight ahead like that...
It's very quick and easy to do, plus you can do it an a layer in Zbrush.
nice and subtle
anyways, great job with the likeness!
