I have a problem with custom textures , whenever I make custom textures and apply them they look jagged don't blend well with each other and the hardness bar dont work , I have tried increasing the tile resolution and hiding with deco but its not working , its not a solution , theremust be a solution since the textures by crysis work fine and perfectly so what can be the problem?

My problem is Described easily , that after creating some custom textures when I go to paint I get jagged look and edges when the textures touch each other , I never had this problem in the crysis editor with the default textures but I had with custom textures and same is in the Blue Mars Editor ..... How can I do to fix this and avoid this jagged look?
I tried increasing res of terrain and severall settigns but it's like the hardness is not working and the game considers the custom textures as just 100% opacity instead of giving a degree of trasparency whern blending ....

I have never found a real solution, even though I've been using Sandbox for quite some time. I've noticed that those issues are most obvious when you try to blend two textures which are distinctively different in terms of colour, saturation and brightness.
Tiles resolut ion, affects only the textures in the background, not detail textures surrounding you. You can reduce those blending issues by creating a new map and changing Unit Size (lower, or higher... I can't remember).
Do not expect miracles though, as far as I know, in CE2 you shouldn't be relying on terrain textures as much as you normally would.
I know this is not the answer you've been looking for but, use vegetation, rocks and decals to cover those ugly blends. Terrain textures should be used merely as a base for your terrain. If you have the access to the regular editor open up some Crytek's maps and look how they dealt with this issues; for instance, blends on beaches are nearly always covered with beach_dirt decal.
Hope that helps.
Keep in mind:
- Check your map's terrain unit size, if i'm not mistaken, Crysis1 original maps, used "2" and heightmaps of 2048*2048.
-All custom terrain textures must have very very low contrast.
So, go to PS and remove most of the contrast from your custom texture, they must look really really pale.
- Remember to check the correct preset on exporting your custom terrain texture (CryTiff exporter), the preset must be "TerrainDifuse"
- The diffuse colour of terrain materials, must be 255,255,255 (Pure white) Just check Crysis terrain materials, copy the settings, and work from there.
- On the Material Settings, under shader you must choose "Terrain.Layer".
- Of course, also increase the tiling res:
- And always generate surface on High Quality:
(No need to use 16384 tho)
