There's Kostas and Brice shaders around here, make a search im sure you will find, both have cubemap shading.
You can also always use Maya default viewport to try that, it won't work the way .dds works, but at least you can test reflection, just stick a texture into the reflection color node.
There's a cube reflection hypershade node that gives pretty much get similar results in the viewport, but then you have to separate all the 6 sides as individual textures.
