Workshop #04 - Pables

Hi people. New at this forum. I loved the idea of doing some workshops with you, because I want to improve my skills at modelling, uvmapping, rendering ... specially focused at games. So, I'm here to learn.

This is my attempt wip. Crits and comments are super-welcomed.

I use Modo 401.

Hi, I fixed a bit the rifle. Please comment and help about correct topology, because I kept it 100% quads, but seems to be some pinches.

Generally there is no reason to keep 100% quads, you can get away with ngons and even tris as long as they arent defining some detail, or defining a curve. If you have them on a flat surface its likely that it would never be noticed. It can be a good way to terminate loops and keep your mesh a little more manageable. There aren't any real rules here, so you should just experiment and see what works!

Thank you EarthQuake for your help, I'll do as you say and so try to improve the edge loops and add some details as the screws.

Ok, guys, I'm sorry but I lost my work (it wasn't much, I know) and I've been away of forums for a while. I'm gonna start it from the very beginning again.

This is what I've got for today. Nearly close to what I had before, but I think this mesh its better done and I have a bit more control over it.
