Not a bad start, but since it isn't finished yet theres not much to crit on. Just keep in mind that practically is the key to believability. This is especially true with sci-fi stuff.
That design looks kind of ridiculous. Where do you hold it? In the future, ergonomics would get better, not worse. It's visually kinda confusing and messy.
How do you intend you gun be presented? In a first person shooter? You may need to adjust some of the details if so.
The large middle section is softer and round, but other areas around that are sharper and hard edged. This mix of styles early on can make your final unfixable without starting over.

Yea im totally confused n how this weapon will even function. Is it projectile based? where do you hold it? Take into consideration on how an actual designer would design a gun in the future.
I would think that it would work better to have a frontal handle as well as the rear one, and then try and change the thing at the back to maybe an arm rest or stabiliser, a bit like the aliens smart gun.
