Took a break from years upon years of really heavy death metal and I've started listening to stuff like Brad Sucks - Borderline.
It really helps because when I used to animate with Death Metal on it was, I guess, a little anger-filled but with Brad Sucks it really brings a fun loving, light hearted pixar-like animation feel to it all. : D
I've been listening to my current Pandora QuickMix, which consists of:
60s pop (The Association, etc), assorted metal (Metallica, Dethklok, Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, Devildriver, Led Zeppelin), fast stuff (shitmat, Venetian Snares), stooopid jams (dirty south / crunk hip hop club hits from the past 10 years or so), and then Wesley Willis gets played periodically.
I've been listening to a shitload of Legendary Pink Dots, lately.
Particularly "The Maria Dimension", "The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse", and "The Tower"
(Though the whispering wall got me started. My brother got his hands on that back when we were like, 11 or something.)
The Knife
Feist
La Roux
Ladyhawke
Portishead
Bertie Blackman
Regina Specktor (girly i know but good music..)
Florence and the Machine
Royksopp
The Shins

Hell yeah, another BTBAM fan. Paul Waggoner is one of my favorite guitarists. Huge inspiration.
This is a relatively unknown band, but this song is so good I think they deserve some publicity.

Kind of like Porcupine Tree in many ways, if you like anything Steven Wilson does then you will probably like this.
