Soo how does this work? Can anyone go to one of the locations on that site and participate ? Looking around that site i notice this: openlocation: not open , on all the swedish jam locations so i guess not!
the DC Metro IDGA chapter is looking for a venue: link
The DC chapter is coming back to life if you're in the area I urge joining up, I think the reason is the involvement of people in the government/military simulation industry.
I know a couple of guys who are participating who I'd really want to work with but damn thing happens the same time I'm attending Spark FX as well as a workshop I've got organized.
We made a game where you are controlling a monkey that "works" for the CIA. Instead of pressing keys to make him walk and jump you have to actually program him.
So you type:
> Walk(5);
> JumpOn();
> execute
And the monkey will go through your level There are alot more commands at your diposal, some are not completely implemented or shown in the level though. Like: FlipOff(); FlingPoop(); CaffeineRush();
We used unity3d so we got alot of stuff done pretty quickly. We were happy with how it turned out.
Yeah we had a lot of fun. We had like 8 teams 130 ish people total at our site. Our team had a lot of issues at the beginning getting some exporting to work. Only one person new the engine we decided to go with. Not complete but we're may keep going and revamp the project to continue. lots of stuff had to be cut last minute.
your new game rocks BIG TIME. We just had a blast playing it. highly recommended! Search for "Puji"
Our game didnt make it to the desired product, lot of techical stuff, we have a nice leveleditor as well. however, there is no working version out but a Art dump will follow!

Sounds cool anyway!
I am going to the Dutch one in Utrecht, any other polycounters there?
@Kwakkie, I think that the registration window isn't fixed but just determined per venue / country.
I may show up just to get drunk and rub my butt on people.
I encourage others to give it a shot!

I might go to utrecht, if I can force some friends to go with me hehe.

Utrecht is full (for now, they are apparently looking for a bigger venue), you will be put on a waitinglist. http://ggj2010.ning.com/
they have one in Halifax. I'll talk to some of the guys at work and see who's interested.
