During the realtime graphics class where i have Pixelgoat here on the forums as my teacher, we where given a few concepts to choose from and to model up from highpoly to lowpoly then bake it down and texture it. Among the concepts where a spider tank that i really liked so i started modeling.
So far i have only completed the highpoly model, and i have just started a basic lowpoly model. This is probably my first time that i actually make something this intricate from highpoly to lowpoly and so far i have learned quite alot.
The concept was made by Mattias Rousk.
Here is the concept i chose
I had to fill in alot of the details in the dark area and make up alot of stuff where the concept did not explain what it looked like.
We where given the freedom to bend the looks a bit with the details.
Here is a wip
Final Highpoly, got some minor scale adjustment to do on the legs etc but ill do that on the lowpoly.
Details around the cannon
Details on the backside
I have also rigged parts of it, and it will be fully rigged once the model is done with lowpoly and texture.
Among the riggins attributes i got so far is the end of the legs can change from feet to wheels, where the foot retracts and forms a protective shell around the wheel and lets the wheel touch the ground. The other animation is a short fire and reload cycle that has the machinery around the cannon take the recoil and an ejection system that ejects the used shell.

One small thing tho. You're model is closer to the ground than in the concept, which makes it look to heavy and not very agile. Could be due to the angle of one of the legs, or the length.
On closer inspection, I think the second part of the leg needs to be a bit longer, if you want to stay true to the concept. It shouldn't be to much hassle to fix.
Ill scale the legs more appropriately once i have baked the normals
As a crit, the main body of the tank should be higher from the ground since now it looks a bit too low compared to the original concept. Also, if the tank now tried to rotate, wouldn't the cannon actually hit the legs around it? And, the legs: they should be a bit more massive cause I'd imagine a big tank like that would need lots of strength to hold up.
GREAT WORK!
and as said before, the legs are a bit out of proportion atm, i will change them when the entire thing is lowpoly modeled and normalmap baked. Im almost done with the legs lowpoly atm and ill have to finish off the lowpoly by tomorrow night if i dont run into any trouble while doing the body lowpoly, fortunately i can do alot of mirroring so it should be pretty straightforward from here.
I havnt finished the textures yet, but im getting there, still experimenting with the colorscheme etc.
The last one, the army green tone is a fav for sure too...maybe you should just use all of them in one big scene
