"With these hip frames and sloppy bowl cut, convincing people that you weren't in the library overlooking a Dallas motorcade will be more difficult than ever before!"
Hi,
I know how to model and texture, but im looking for some one serious that knows what he is actually doing and not just learning on the go form youtube tutorials.
Requirements:
1) Knowledge and ability to texture and rig.
2)Can help me come up with ideas.
3)Knowledge of how to import in to the TF2 Workshop.
If you are interested just add me
I'm looking for someone to help me because I really want to contribute to the wonderful community of TF2 but I don't really have time to work all alone on an project.
I personally use Maya, 3ds Max , Softimage and Blender so you will have to have knowledge of one of them.
For texturing I use Photoshop but feel free to use Gimp or anything else.
im not looking for someone to do the work for me but im looking for a partner that could help me out
Hey, I'm new to the workshop, but I've followed this thread for a while. I haven't posted any thing yet, but i have some ideas and I've modeled some of 'em. So far just hats and cosmetics though, although I do want to make some weapons. So, does anyone know of some in-depth tutorials on weapon making/importing? (Like the whole process?) Something like Helljumper's? Well,Hopefully I can get SFM and start posting some items to the TF2 Workshop. Hope to hear from ya'.
Hey Dafloggedtoasta, I really like that gun, but I do have some advice. First off, the carving/inscription/detail on the side looks good, but it may be too similar to the frontier justice. Also I don't really like the name. Is there a particular reason for the name? I was thinking something like "The Trail Blazer" or something like that. I don't know if you like it or not, but that's what I might call it. With regard for you looking for a partner, I might be able to model it, but that's pretty much it. Does the engie have any shotguns that aren't pump-action? Because if not, you may have to make a custom rig. Well if you want to talk more, I'll subscribe to this thread so you can just reply.
Hi Stock! Nice to meet you. Yes i agree with the name, as it was never to be set in stone. Also, as for the decal, I an designing a more unique decal including some simple golden game birds, so the shotgun looks like a game shooting gun. I am hoping my design will look something like this, obviously with much less detail:
As for the modelling, yes the gun will not be pump action, just two single shots before a reload. Rigging looks quite difficult, so i am wondering if it would be possible to transfer the reload animation for the loch and load to the engineer, but i sense that is easier said than done.
Yeah, I really like the decal idea. I wonder if there is a fake TF2 company that has something to do with hunting. I haven't made any weapons yet so I've no idea about rigging and what have you, but it may be possible to assign the model to the loch n' load's rig. Well my brother has some ideas for names: "The Houston Hellraiser", "The Texas Two-Shot", or "The Handyman's Hunting-Rifle". Just some ideas. Nice to meet you too.
Hey DAF. I like the tweed jacket. I know it's a loose concept, but I think it needs a collar. I assume it will be team colored? With regard to my Steam, I mostly share an account with my brother. I recently created my own so I could begin posting to the workshop.(I haven't posted anything yet.) But, here's a link to the one I created last week: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198187142349//
Well I'm working on a kind of Starbucks-ish Barista Scout outfit and I wanted to know what y'all thought of it. I'm basically done with the model just a few things to touch up and then I have to texture it. But I feel like I'm gonna hit a road block at the apron's rigging. I want it to be like the medic's lab coat, but I don't know how to do that. If you have any advice/critiques/help you want to offer, please do.
Also, i'm wondering if anyone would be willing to maybe make a logo for the hat/apron? I was thinking like MANNBUCKS with a image of Saxton Hale in the starbucks fashion or something but if anyone can think of a better name/ logo idea, I'll listen.
Hi stock looks great so far! and yes I was after someone to model it Your scout outfit looks brilliant, don't know about rigging it though. One question: what colour would the scout outfit be?
Well, I 'aint really good at texturing stuff yet. Also when I tried to test the jacket there where some errors.(Probably just a too high tri count so I would have to work on that.) For the Barista Scout I was thinking a kind of darker team-colored theme.(Basically just solid colors.) With regard to your texture concept, I might suggest something like this:
So kind of a team colored plaid design.
P.S. heres the model with AO:
Actually, the errors that I'm having have to do with riggin' and what not. So I'll have to look them up. If anyone knows how to solve these errors or what causes them, tell me. This is what it shows when I try to preview the model:
ERROR: Too many bone influences per vertex!
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'workshop/player/items/engineer/item_preview/item_preview.mdl'

Awesome! That's super helpful! I'll have to try it out today and re-export it. When I figure it out and get into the item preview I'll post a screenshot. Thanks!
Well I'm close to posting my first item, but My item requires paintable red and white stripes in the texture. The problem is, I've no idea how to make the colored part of the stripes paintable. In helljumper's tutorial, he has a striped hat like this:
But he doesn't show you how he made only certain stripes paintable. In his texture it's not even team colored.
So I need some help figuring out how to do make a striped team colored/white item. If you know how this works, please help. Thanks.
I'd suggest doing something else with the bullets on the sniper poncho... maybe remove them? dunno if they are needed with the poncho.... dunno... they seem to clash a lil at any rate currently.
