Hey guys... Started this for fun and to add something cartoony to my portfolio. It's the Koosalagoopagoop from Dexter's Laboratory! Here's the mesh so far.
Starting the unwrap & hopefully textures tonight. But honestly, I'm not really sure what direction to go with this. I'm torn between keeping it as minimalistic and close to the source material as possible, or jazzing it up with more detail. Any help with the topology would be great, as I've never modeled something so amorphous before. That and how certain parts of his body change almost completely when he changes his expression.

Good call! Shrunk them down quite a bit.
Still not sure how far I want to take this, but we will see how I feel. I'm kind of eager to start some other project ideas.
I would like to see less floating geometry especially if your planning on rigging and posing him.
try keeping it all one element if possible. some debate this but it helps keep clipping/piercing while animated to a minimum.
love that squishy look you nailed it
