15min per frame? Thats still a long freaking time, that thing is like 12mins long! But maybe some of the shots are stills and he just animated the camera in AE, which is a lot faster. But I have used AE before and I know I didn't even scratch the surface of what it can do, I'll have to forward this to my old composting teacher to show students for insperation.
Welcome to the agony of archviz that is long render times.
Obviously, this can be cut a lot shorter by baking in light, or saving the global illumination for a file that is read each frame, instead of recalculating each time.
yeah its soo incredible...
i think so modeling is low poly and i think shaders are very simple too...and as some peoples said using AE is easy...what makes it good?...i think answer is the artstyle...computers cant do art, people does...
I guess this guy will be working proffesionally at an archviz company and will have no trouble pushing his work onto multiple octocores to render when theyre not occupied.

I read in an interview he did it all on his own i7 920. Rendertimes between 20 seconds and 1.5h per frame.
If you leave it rendering overnight at that rate you can probably get an average of 10 seconds of movie rendered per night. Say a minute a week. More if you're not at your computer all day, just whenever you're away set it to render
Ah ok well that seems plausible too. Definitly is a long running project as he already got top rows for single images of the buildings. That sayd hes a machine!

nowadays it's not incredibly hard to make something LOOK real.
but what this guy has done is make everything FEEL real, and that, is something insanely hard to do.
