Where is the expression editor in MAYA?

In the Per Particle (Array)
Attributes section of the Attribute Editor, I right-clicked the rgbPP box and select Creation Expression from the pop-up menu. But the expression editor does not appear, instead a note pad apppeared as in the picture. Who can tell me what should I do? I am not familiiar with a note pad to write expression. Thank you!

into the MEL command line.
ALSO : - Just so this doesn't happen in future, go to WINDOWS > SETTINGS / PREFERENCES, in the first category for Interface, look at where it says Expression Editor, set it back to Expression Editor, I think you probably have yours set to Text Editor to correct the default action when right clicking.
