[Portfolio] – Bradley Wascher | Environment Art

Hey guys finally got a working website up and running and was wondering if i could get some feedback on it, layout, content, and whatever else you fancy to critique would be helpful. As of right now the one problem that i know of that I'm fixing later is the resolution on my resume is really large and takes a long time to load. But besides that if anyone can share some info on what could be done different to be or appealing to employers please let me know. Thank for your time. www.BradleyWascher.com

It's simple and uncluttered, I like that. Sort of reminds me of my website I'm doing, sort of.

Portfolio is good stuff but a little small, 3 pieces. I would work on getting more stuff up there to show. Also if you have any experience in painting or other digital media I'd show that off too.

The portfolio itself is looking pretty good. I'm a bit worried about that plane you're showcasing though.. The model looks good, but it looks like there's quite alot of issues with the smoothing or normal maps, you should probably look into that.

The Zombie SUV is awesome, definitely your best work on display. The X-plosion hallway peice is alright, but not particularly exciting atm, but seeing as though it's a wip, we'll see what you come up with.

    Keep it up.

it might just be my crappy internet, but your site is loading really slow for some reason right now, make sure you using .gifs for your name and stuff, and your image files sizes aren't too terribly big, for those people like me who might have slow connections. From what I got to load though it looks good! Keep working and add more stuff!

*my bad you already said something about this, but try .gifs it might help!

The portfolio itself looks pretty good although I think you can bring up the header closer to the top a bit.

As for your work I really dig the Zombie Suv however there are some issues I have with that piece. I think your SuV can benefit from a bit more high frequency details such as bolts as suggested by the several custom fitted anti zombie panels you have mounted everywhere. The bumper lacks a lot of mounting components as well such as straps or bolts, things like that.

Like everyone else suggested the first bomb env piece is a bit clean and lacks some primary focus.

Either way your portfolio is off to a great start, I would suggest you just keep pushing the pieces. Good luck!

my biggest concern for an environment artist is: where's the environments?

i quite like the zombie SUV, but I agree it needs a tad to really polish it off.

You need some work on your resume... From what I've seen from the portfolio classes at my school, no one, puts their address anymore on their resume. Just put your number, email, and your website. If people want to mail you (right...) they'll ask for it.

"To obtain a position as a 3D modeler / environmental artists at a company where i can show my passion, ability to learn, and commitment through my art and and people skills"

"People skills" is old... It's a very textbook response and some people find it annoying and really cookie cutter.

    Capitalize the "i"

For your Software, I would just say "Photoshop current" don't say "and below" because it really doesn't matter.

I've talked to plenty of people that 1 worked at gaming companies as HR and 2 actually worked at a gaming company as a 3d modeler and what I said is basically all relayed from them.
