Now I know this isn't a pimp or preview, but I thought it made more sense in here than it did in the general section...
I've always loved browsing artist's websites and marveling in their ability and the gorgeous artwork they post in their gallery. I've got quite a collection of bookmarks specifically for artist of various categories (character art, environment art, weapons, models etc.) and every once in a while I like to browse through them and see if there are any new updates.
Recently I've noticed that a lot of my favorite artists' websites are either down for construction or simply missing all together. Like
http://www.hawkprey.com for James Hawkings or
http://www.bluep.com/blp04507/fs_home.htm for Richard Lyons or even
http://www.tjframe.com http://www.jeremylove.co.uk/ and
http://www.planetshane.com/ whose websites have been under construction for literally years. There are countless others but I just thought I'd point out my favorites.
What's happening to these artists? Does anyone know where they've gone or what they're working on?
Will they be back?
I miss you!
Thank god for Alley Fell, Feng Zhu and all my other favorites who update on a regular basis.

Last I knew, Hawkprey was at Epic Games. He was their concept guy on Gears 2. I'm assuming he's still there, most likely working on Gears 3. If not, something similarly awesome that Epic has up their sleeves.
If he's as hardcore as I think he is, he's deeply devoted into something he's found is very important to himself, and simply doesn't have the time for personal stuff like websites and meeting new and interesting people.
In such situations, I think it's natural that you have to make sacrifices. Ask yourself, if you could work on Gears of War 3 or update your website, which would you do? And consider, what happens after the game is finished, wouldn't it be nice to continue forward? A game becoming a success isn't all luck, nope, it's hard workers and their sarifice.
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that 3d is now somewhat commonplace, posting a great 3d model is no longer the earth shattering thing it once was years ago.
So it goes... But every once in a while there's a kick arse new 3d piece that'll turn my head, still pop in there almost daily.
Eight equals equals Dee.
Damn you wonderfully talented artists and your lack of time to update inconsequential websites!
