does anyone have any tips or videos that show how to model a human arm in maya? Also if you have one that could help me model a body as well that would be great cheers
find several pictures of an arm, create a nurbs plane in maya, apply a lambert material to the plane with pictures, place the plane or planes in areas that will help you trace, make a cube extrude it a bunch or add a bunch of divisions from the attribute editor, drag vertices.
You're sounding a lot like RIK the not-modeller here. What Achillesian is saying is to start from a cube (or WHATEVER you're most comfortable with), extrude it along the shape, and add cuts where needed. Then position the verts where you need them.
Getting anatomy right takes a lot of observation, and a lot of reference. It'll be tough to model an arm correctly if you don't understand the anatomy. Once you do understand the anatomy, there are a heck of a lot of ways to approach modeling it. I'd probably just focus on gathering reference and studying up on anatomy as a first step.
