This is just something that I have been working on... I am about to texture so I need to send this thing out to get some feed back on. The gun; if you notice has parts that are only half-way done, and only rendering half sections. Still, in all hopes you'll get the idea of what this thing is suppose to look like. I need feed back!

The front part isn't done and I know I need more detail on the grips, but yeah just go off on the thing!

That's pretty slick. It looks quite uncomfortable to hold though; the trigger hand has no support, and the other handle should be further down the barrel and possibly allow for a 4th finger.

Just my opinion.

It definently is a cool plasma gun!. I like it a lot, but the grip doesn't look very ergonomic.

I am going to change the grip to something a little bit more practical, work on the barrel and post up the concept. thanks all! the high res should be done today.

nice, i agree aobut the grips, also is that a scope on the back? seems too flush to the gun may be hard to get your head in posistion to look thru it

Not to let any folks down but after some talks its been decided that the plasma gun should turn into a sniper rifle of a kind, and look better! I know its crazy, but crazy like FOX! So I am going to give it a run and see what happens... I think its going to take 5 or more days to do, (and today is the concept stage). If you have any jaw dropping concepts, or ideas, please ship them my way!

oh, well the scope seemed less rounded than the one in the high poly, my bads. If your going for the sniper look, a longer barrel would be sweet, but i wouldn't make it just a plain cylinder, make some sort of boxy casing around it that extends from the main body of the gun about 1/2 way down the barrel, and of course a larger scope.

Let me clear this up. He is basing his design off of the plasma gun model that I did for the Eclipse mod. The original concept was made by the project lead, known as darkmatter.

Yeah, look at Racers handle then yours, your scale is a bit off, and also the back hits a 90 degree angle, whereas racers flows, which seems a lot more comfortable. Also the scope looks a bit low.

Thats totally true, I should have contacted these good folk about the use of their concept. I just saw a cool looking gun and went for it. Once again I am sorry that I didn't clear up where I got the concept from.

Its not going to be a plasma gun... I lied. But here are some super sloppy shots of a 15% done gone that still has place holders and tons of detail missing in all sorts of parts. You can also see that that are seems and un-welded geometry; these pics are just so you guys get an idea of what I am trying to do. I really shouldn't be posting these but I'm done modeling for today and this is something to do!

i think you are confusing the matters, the thing you posted saying was a concept is actualy a low poly model made by racer, based on a concept that someoen else did that has not been posted in the thread

you are refering to someone elses low poly model as your concept,

so when others are talking about the lowpoly they are talking about the thing you are calling a concept which is actualy a low poly model made by racer,

thats where the confusion came from,, you stated you would put a concept in your next post, but instead you posted a bad ass low poly with texture that looks a lot like the highpoly you were making, the piece did luckly have racers name on it or it could have been doubly confusing.

i liked the plasma gun you were doing better than the sniper version doyou have a concept or are you just winging the details, they kinda look all over the place like just doo dads to have doo dads.
