I agree with vj_box, also you could take a bit of the blood out, and put on specific places only? I don't know about everybody but I never multiply AO 100% on the diffuse, maybe 70%?
Details are everywhere instead of putting them on the edges only. Cavity seems to be too strong as well, maybe less opacity overlaying it?
The design of the axe makes it look like it's less of a weapon and more of a piece that would be hanging on a wall. This is partially because it looks like it's not sturdy. There's a lot of small pieces that are holding things together
Also, the blood is far too red. Dried blood usually won't be that vibrant of a red, darken it up a fair amount on the blade there.
Overall though it looks like a solid piece, How much further are you planning on taking this?
It'd be cool if you had a set, or a small environment filled with stuff in this same style, then this one piece wouldn't look so... weird and out of place haha.
This is a rad design from the FUTURE, and perhaps, like a LIGHT SABER... is not gonna awork in real life unless we bend the rules. >.<
Get over it people .... sci-fi "battle axe meets tin opener!" is a great idea!
Deffo what you need to take out a mecha tank and battle-droids if you are a space marine type.
Am guessing the handle design "absorbs" the power of blows? Maybe it acts like a tuning fork and has sonic weapon capabalities
So yeah... good work, and I like the UNreal Shot.. The only thind i'd address before moving on is the Emissive Map... some how make it falloff or gradient or varied a bit.
