I will be moving to Austin in a few weeks and I am looking for room mates? Is there anyone that needs a roomy or has a couch i can crash on next week haha. I am starting a new gig down there and need a place to crash next week while i look for apartments.

Sorry to get all negative, but what kind of company moves someone to a new state (country?) and doesn't offer temporary housing and/or other solutions?

Adam- I am should have phrased my sentence differently. I have a place to stay temporarily but just wanted to see if any artist in Austin had space. Would like to be around like minded individuals (instead of family i don't really know).

ummm, temporary housing options seem pretty rare. I've only come across one studio that offered that in my job hunt, I was like "ORLY?"

How much does it cost to actually _find_ a place for the employee to live in, when he can pay for it himself?

paying for the place is usually not the biggest problem, actually finding a temporary place is the hardest part.

splashdamage offered me an appartment that i had to pay for,
crytek even pays for the first three months..

must be horrible to move to a new location without the company taking care of an appartment

I get my relocation and everything taken care of.

I do have a temp place to stay bu I put it of because I wanted to see if there were some polycounters that needed a room mate. Sorry for the confusion
