Convert .mb to .ma or .obj

I usually carry files between my home and school. I have maya 2008 at home and the school has 2009. I occasionally forget to save as a maya ascii file and have to wait to convert it whenever I get the chance. I did some searching and the programs I found aren't working on vista for me.

So I was wondering if anyone knew of a good plug-in or program that can work on vista and can convert the file to something I can use in maya like a .ma or .obj.

Have you ever thought using the new FBX version 2010? Works like a charm for me

Do you know where I might be able to find a good copy of it? I've been reading that it corrupts your files sometimes. I've been looking for FBX 20102 which apparently has a fix for it but I can't find a working download for any of it lol.

Its crazy how hard it is to find something like this, I would have thought something like this would be a popular plug in lol.

you could just go to file-->open-->options box

and click 'ignore version'.

works perfect. I often go between 8.5, '08 and '09 at work with no prob with ignore version checked.

Well geez, that was incredibly simple! It worked like a charm. Thank you so much I can't believe I didn't know that. I know a lot of people in the same situation as me who will be glad to know about this.
