1.Create a plane alittle bit over the bed/box (add lots of segments) then right click on it, and convert it to Editable Poly > go to helper and create ''Dummy'' using AutoGrind create the dummy at corner of plane (Plane will be the cloth, just so you know, you probebly do know that) and move the dummy so that the corner of the plane is in the middle of dummy box.
When you create the box/bed make sure the corners are chamfered too, by select every edge and clicking on chamfer.
2. Select plane and add skin modifier, in skin modifier Add the Dummy in the scene as the Bone(s).
3. Click on Edit Envelopes and make sure every vertices on plane are selected by expanding the envelopes out as wide as possible (All vertices should be all red). After that add mesh select modifier on plane.
4. Add cloth modifier to plane > go to Object Propertices > add the box/bed by clicking Add objects > select the plane in Objects in
simulation and tick it off as Cloth under Inactive which should be ticked of instead by default > Under cloth Presets, select cotton. Then select the box/bed that you added, and tick it off as Collision Object and click OK.
5. Then select Cloth the modifier you already created under Modifier list, and select the vertice at the corner where the dummy is, then with that vert selected, select Make Group and name it, and click on the Preserve botton. Then go down and tick off 'Use These Proerties' and also tick off 'Use Edge Springs' and while you at it tick off Use soft Selection, I did, dont know if it makes a differance, probebly add sniffness to the red area. Deselect out of cloth.
6. Click on Auto key, and make sure you on frame 0 > and click on Set Key (icon is a Key!), with Auto Key still on go to end frame, and when your on the end/last frame, select the dummy and move it to where you want it to pull the corner of the plane far out to. Turn off Auto key now and go back to frame 0.
(Press play and your animating should be your plane being pulled away from the bed/or whatever it is)
7. Finally select the plane and when your ready hit Simulate, and when your finished and if not happy with results, go back to frame 0 and click Erase Simulation.
