- It seems a bit wide. It might be helpful to block in the entire proportions in low poly form before jumping into the details.
- There is one more grill vent on your model than on the ref. They also all fit within the width of the hood grill.
- The sling loops on the hood seem kind of flat and thin. These are normally just round thick hoops.
- The tread seems a little disconnected?
If you're running into performance issues and you're using 3dsmax it could be good to work with a lot of separate pieces instead of a few joined meshes.
On pieces you're not working on, set them to display as bounding box (right click, object properties). There are probably a few scripts around to help automate this?
a bad artist blames his tools.!
one thing I do with any kind of high poly model is I start by blocking in the very rough forms with boxes and other prims to get a sense of scale. It makes it very easy to see how your front looks when you can see it next to the rest of the (rough, boxy) car.
Regarding the model, according to the reference;
The headlights are too small, the front grill is not tall enough, the bonnet vent is too long, the edges at the sides are too sharp and the handles are in the wrong place.
as for the tyres, should I model the tread connected to the wheel?
couple of sym errors, ignore those.
Check this refpic:
Try to gather a bit more reference, this sort of accuracy errors are pretty severe and you should be able to spot them yourself
Also, your bullbar is really flimsy and thin.
I tried fixing a few issues mentioned.
blocked out the doors.
Hood bulge looks better but I'm not sure the curve is 100% correct yet when seen from the side.
