I've created a quick wall panel I'd like to use as a texture, and the way I decided to go about doing that is using the Render to Texture option with AO.
When I do a standard render(first SS) it looks just fine, AO is present and the detail is close to what I want. I then hit "0" to open up the "Render to Texture" dialog, choose "use existing channel" in "Mapping Coordinates" (I used Planar mapping) and then render it out a 2048x2048 complete map. I then get the second SS, where you can clearly see detail missing in the lights, it's just flat. Why is that? What did I do wrong?

*If you have beveled them, try messing with the distances between the two objects and the cage itself. All should be a similar distance from each other. btw It's hard to tell but it looks like everything is too close together?
