Does anybody know how reset the selection brackets, they some how managed to rotate out of place when i attached the eyes, and if I try to apply symmetry then the mirror is off
That happens when you rotate the object in object mode and then select everything in sub-object mode (vert, edge, poly, element) and rotate it another way.
For example if you create a box, apply edit poly and in element mode rotate the box 45 degrees, then exit sub-object mode and rotate the whole object -45 degrees the box will be back in position but the object, its local pivot and the bounding box will be off.
It's probably best to get into the habit of exiting sub-object mode to rotate the whole object instead of selecting everything in sub-object mode and rotating it. I'm not sure if I had to set up a custom key bind but I tap 1 (which selects vert mode) and then tap it again and it exits sub-object mode.
