Hi

i am rendering a scene in Max whit mental ray the lighting off the scene is made whit Mr sun And Mr sky

Should i use Standar shader for my Diffuse Normal And spec or go put all that in Arch&design and does anyone got some good tutorial on that shader?

    The Arch and Design shader just has a lot more control over certain things and are a lot more flexible to simulate a wider range of materials.

    If you can get the effect you want with a standard shader like a Blinn or whatnot, then stick with that.

    The plus of using the Arch and Design shader is that its guaranteed to work with Mental Ray, where some of Max's own shaders may not, although i'm sure most do work with Mental Ray.

    Standard vs a&d depends on what you are doing.

    Off the top of my head all the basic shaders that ship with Max should work in mental ray, except shadow/matte, and mr has it's own version of that now.
