Hey guys.
I'm just wondering if anyone is using Photoshop Elements 8, or Paint Shop Pro X2? I'm sitting here at my new PC, without an image editor installed yet, and I'm interested in these two.
I can't find any information on their sites to see if they are are actually useful as texture painting tools at this point, because all they talk about is how easy it is for some soccer mom to re-tint photos of her fat kids.
I've never used Photoshop before at all. So I have no clue what to expect with Elements. Or even if making textures for my projects would be prohibited because it's targeted at re-tinting fat kids for personal use? :poly122:
As for PSPX2, I've been using PSP7 for ages. The ultimate version is only 60$ here, but it seems to have been completely re-branded as a one-click photo fixer. I know the editing functionality is still there, but is it any better than it was 10 years ago?

I'm surprised at the lack of feedback here. I guess no one is using Elements? Even the hobbyists?
I love PSP7. But it's 100 years old at this point, and I bet missing some nicer modern features.
Make sure you can have multiple channels, layer masks, group layers, check the number of allowable layers and see if you can have multiple path layers.
So make your choice now. Go DL the demos...
