Brief description:
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising is a standalone game that attempts to recreate Westwood Studio's hit RTS, C&C Red Alert 2, in a first person perspective.
Everything that was in Red Alert 2 and it's expansion, Yuri's Revenge, should appear in this game, except Yuri's army, because the game only supports 2 sides.

The game revolves around the multiplayer Command & Conquer or All Out War game mode. Players fight in a team based environment in order to destroy the enemy base. Units can be bought from specific structures (infantry from the barracks, vehicles from the War Factory) in an RTS-style of game mechanic. The bought characters and vehicles are used by players, bringing in the FPS element of the gameplay. Units are bought using credits which are acquired by AI controlled resource gathering units. Destroying enemy structures and killing the enemy also gains you credits.

If you destroy:
  • the barracks, the enemy can no longer build infantry.
  • the war factory, the enemy can no longer build vehicles.
  • the refinery, the enemy can no longer gain credits from their resource gathering units.
  • the power plant, certain buildings cease to function and some base defences are disabled.
Development started in 2005, but was not truly focused. During the years that the game has been in development, significant alterations have been made to the w3d engine and to the organisation of our team, leading to a much more focused effort.


Target aim:
Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising is a free standalone game. Upon release we aim to heavily publicise the game and get across the message that is totally free to play, fun, nostalgic and also different to other fps/tps games on the gaming market as a whole.


Compensation:
This is a free non-profit project, no compensation is available except extra experience gained. The team is
friendly and fairly engaged with the project. A good working environment.


Technology:
3ds Max 8 with an engine plugin we will provide.
Adobe Photoshop


Talent needed:
-2d Artists.
-3d Character modelers.

What we are looking for in a 2d or 3d artist, is someone who:
-Has spare time.
-Will be active in the foreseeable future (a.k.a we don't want you running off).
-Is competent at creating their own 2d textures or 3d models in 3d Studio Max/Maya.
-Is over the age of 16

You can't say we require too much ;)
