Game Server Programmer
We are seeking a C/C++ programmer to work on game server systems. The successful candidate will work on code for "WWII Online: Battleground Europe" (US and Chinese distributions), related military projects and future Playnet game projects.
Initial work will take place alongside our Senior Server Programmer while learning our procedures and proprietary systems. The expanding scope of work, however, will provide opportunity for the candidate to quickly progress upwards to participate in both technical and game design.
Familiarity with concepts of distributed and transactional processing will be of benefit. Playnet's use of threading is limited but growing: experience working with threads will be highly advantageous.
Required Skills:
Linux-based development experience (gcc, gdb, etc) (3+ years preferrable)
C programming experience (3+ years preferrable)
Berkeley TCP/IP sockets in C or C++ (3+ years preferrable)
recent C++ experience (2+ years preferrable)
SQL experience (preferably MySQL) (2+ years preferrable)
Advantageous Skills:
Subversion source control,
MySQL C API,
Perl scripting,
HTML/JavaScript/JSP,
Microsoft Visual Studio,
Mac OS X Development,
LUA scripting,
Past USMIL contract work
