How do you freeze local transforms in Max 2009? Not sure if it's called the same in Max, but in XSI it's the Freeze button.

not really sure what 'Freeze' does in XSI but try alt+RMB 'freeze transform' or just 'freeze' the object which means it can't be selected

Freeze in XSI is like collapsing the stack in Max.
One of the other freeze methods is 'Freeze transforms' that in XSI sets the local transformations, rotation and scale to zero on a mesh.
I think is called 'reset x-form' in max, not too sure.
